~I am refinancing my house and called today to find out how the appraisal went. My house has gone up in value 8.5% in less than two years, with minimal investment from me - woohoo!
~In 15 minutes I am leaving to pick up C and take him for his first visit to the allergist. He is not going to like me if they poke him today. (Update - they poked him and he is NOT happy with me. Took two of us to hold him down, and one to poke. Will update when the RAST results are available.)
~This morning C was bleeding from a rugburn type scrape on his arm, and my Mom had trouble getting it to stop bleeding. This is not a good thing, given that he has a brother with a rare platelet disorder. He has also recently been brusing more. I keep rationalizing it as normal given his aggressive rough-and-tumble personality. At some point I'm going to have to have him tested. I don't want to.
~N is doing better on the hygiene front. We shall see how long this lasts.
~I have developed allergies since moving here and the OTC stuff is not helping so yesterday I gave in and went to the doctor. My cholesterol has also jumped from 180 to 236, my weight was up another 4 lbs, but my BP was okay. I was upset because I have been eating better in the last 6 mo than I have my entire life, plus I've increased my exercise, and I'm still going in the wrong direction. My doctor keeps insisting that all I need to do is reduce calories. I'm doing that. It isn't working. He keeps telling me that reducing calories can't fail and that if I'm still gaining weight I need to reduce more. I left ready to throw things at him. I asked about Metformin but he won't put me on that until I am "officially" diabetic. Gee thanks - I am already borderline with a significant family history - why is that not enough? I will have all the bloodwork rechecked next month.
~My best friend just got really bad news. Her Mom died of cancer when she was young, and now her Dad has just been diagnosed with cancer. Sometimes life just sucks.
